Training

The following one-day workshops will provide a clear blueprint for how to create a Safe Routes program in your community. Some of the topics that will be covered in these hands-on programs include the long-term health implications of physical inactivity created by the built environment, 'The 5 Es" -- encouragement and education approaches, enforcement and engineering approaches, evaluation requirements -- and information about the new federal Safe Routes to Schools grant program. As part of these workshops you will participate in a walkabout at a local elementary school, so bring comfortable walking shoes, a hat, a water bottle, and wear sunscreen.

All ADOT-sponsored SRTS training is free and open to the public. Participants at any of the following sessions will be able to claim three points on their Cycle 3 SRTS grant application. To register for a training session, you must RSVP to the appropriate contacts below:
